De Dee

When I returned from 'nam, I fell in love with love. I believe that the world would be better with more love, and I wanted to sing about that. I believe that peace, love, and flowers show us the way to truth and happiness.

I began my musical career singing with my sisters in the White Flower. We were promoted by a company called King Biscuit, but they dropped us after our first appearance at the Alabama Blues Festival due to "artistic differences." After my oldest sister left to become a sister, I mean a nun (he he, I love that !!), I had some bad experiences singing in a movie called Flowers, Love, and More Flowers.

My next band, the Love Fest Flower Experience, sang about peace and harmony at post-war protests. After that, I jumped from band to band singing every chance I had. Then I got a job working with horses, but I lost interest in horses after seeing something very disturbing after a rodeo. I began helping with homeless people at a shelter in Cleveland.

When I opened a methadone clinic, I had a lot of problems with really weird and mean people. That's when I met the Strange Loves. After they were released from jail, I joined the band because they were so pitiful and cute with their begging and crying. Plus they threatened to keep coming to the clinic until I gave in. We've been singing about love and flowers ever since.
